About Us

The Meadows School
  • We are a family owned and operated school that has been in business since 1978.

Most of our staff members have been with us for many years which give our school a very close knit family feel.  This is important because this is the first experience that many of the children and families that attend our school have.  It is important that young children have consistency in their relationships and it is important that families have support. This is one reason why The Meadow’s School is truly a home away from home for your child and family. Our staff is highly trained and dedicated, and with our very low staff turnover rates, we will build a close working relationship with you which will benefit your child. Because we are so confident in our program, we invite you to stop in for a tour, unannounced, at any time during our school day.

  • Our Goals

To experience an achievement and in doing so a sense of accomplishment, ensures that further tasks will be sought after and more difficult goals will be seen as reachable. In order to develop this confidence, we focus on helping each child feel good about himself, deal with feelings appropriately, develop friendships, welcome diversity, and accept changes. Some 36% of children in New Jersey live in low-income households. Investing in higher quality childcare has proven to result in a 13% ROI, per child, per year. We want to ensure that adults and children alike will see the importance of being kind, helpful, and courteous to others. We challenge each child and adult to do their best in all that is attempted.

  • A Positive Climate

Very early in development we want to instill a positive self image and security in each child. Our spaces are structured and our staff is qualified to bring out the best in each child. We promote feelings of success because each person is respected for their unique strengths and contributions. Our methods of discipline promote self worth and develop self esteem and self discipline.  We promote positive relationships among all of our children, staff and families. Our social skill program allows many interactions with peers and adults, helping each child to develop an understanding of themselves and how to best relate with the people around them.

  • Activities and Experiences

Children learn with their whole being.  This is why our programs are planned with a special focus on the whole-child. Our curriculum incorporates Literacy – Art – Language – Music – Movement – Science – Nature – Math – Numbers – Character Education – Social Skills – Gross Motor Skills – Dramatic Play – Fine Motor Skills – Sensory Exploration – Health and Nutrition – Independent Life Skills.  Our classrooms are dynamic and active.  Cooperation, which retains each child’s individuality, is a priority.  Our students are provided with numerous opportunities throughout the day to develop their own interests. They are encouraged to make their own decisions and to think independently, providing an invaluable learning experience which will last a lifetime.  Creativity and innovation is supported by positive staff members.
